Where this data comes from

What we ingest

We read the meet result files that LSCs publish on their own websites — the same HY-Tek files a coach or parent can download. We do not buy data, and we do not have access to USA Swimming’s internal database.

That has a consequence worth stating plainly: those files are not audited the way USA Swimming’s own database is. We run our own quality checks and we hide results that are physically impossible or that contradict the rest of a swimmer’s record, but a published file can still be wrong. If something on this site looks wrong to you, it may well be — tell us and we’ll look.

Not every LSC publishes files, so our coverage is not the whole country. Today we hold results for 481,821 swimmers. A swimmer being absent from a ranking does not mean they were slower — it may just mean their LSC doesn’t publish.

What we display

Public competition results: name, age, club, LSC, event, time, and the rankings and Power Points computed from them. This is the same information that appears on the published result file itself, and on every other swimming results site.

We never display a date of birth, and we never display a USA Swimming member ID. We don’t ask you for either one, and neither appears anywhere on a public page.

What claiming a profile does — and doesn't do

Claiming a profile is a private bookmark. It tells us which swimmer to show on your dashboard, goals and race-day screens. That is the whole of it.

• It is private. Nothing on the public profile changes, and no visitor can tell whether a profile has been claimed or by whom.
• It is not exclusive. A swimmer and both their parents can all claim the same profile. Claiming does not take anything away from anyone.
• It gives no editing power. A claim cannot change a time, a name, a club, or anything else a visitor sees. Results come from the published file.
• It asks for nothing. No member ID, no date of birth. Since a claim changes nothing public and locks nobody out, there is nothing to prove.
• You can undo it in one click from Settings.

Swimmers under 13 cannot claim a profile themselves — that goes through a parent/guardian account instead.

Removal and opt-out

If you are a swimmer, or the parent or guardian of one, and you want a profile removed from SwimMeetIQ, email us and we will take it down.

One honest limit: we can remove a swimmer from SwimMeetIQ, but we cannot unpublish the LSC’s original result file. That document stays where the LSC put it, and other sites that read it may still show the result.

Deleting your account

Removing a profile from the site and deleting your account are different things. To delete an account, email the same address above and we will do it — self-serve account deletion is not built yet, and we would rather say so than point you at a button that doesn’t exist.
